The client

A digital coastal tourism and guide platform founded by Charles Johnson, a licensed Bahamian fly fishing guide and UN Tourism Sustainable Islands Challenge finalist.

The challenge

  1. 01

    Multi-island expansion

Scale the site from 8 islands to all 16 official Bahamian island destinations, prioritizing Long Island ahead of the 2026 Bahamas Bonefishing Tournament Series.

  2. 02

    Filter and counter bugs

Stat counters showed zero, and island filters briefly displayed “No guides found” before results appeared.

  3. 03

    Sponsorship

Add a clean, static ad banner zone tied to regional partners such as the Bahamian Brewery.

  4. 04

    Scope control

Build the core foundation (guides, directory pages, QR landing hubs, conservation rules) and defer permit issuing and payment gateways to Phase 2.

What we built

  • A WordPress MVP built to the brief

A WordPress MVP tailored to the client’s requirements, with an admin-editable content framework.

  • Eight new island destination pages

  • Counters, menus and filters for 16 districts

The homepage statistics counters, dropdown menus and guide finder filters were updated to handle all 16 island districts.

  • Credibility and events

The founder’s bio now highlights his recognition by UN Tourism Executive Director Natalia Bayona, and official Bahamas Bonefishing Tournament Series event updates were added.

  • Sponsorship zones and SEO

High-visibility sponsorship zones were positioned, and page titles and meta descriptions were refined for search and engagement.
